Damascus – 18 October 2026

The Director General of the Syrian Investment Authority, engineer Ahmad Rawad Ramadan, discussed with the Chairman of Tiger Group, Amer al-Zoubi, and his accompanying delegation opportunities to launch investment projects in a number of vital sectors, in a meeting held at the Authority’s headquarters in Damascus, amid accelerated moves by the Authority to attract investment groups to the Syrian market.

Real estate, construction and agriculture… and an integrated medical city

The talks, according to what the Authority published on its official website and media outlets reported, covered the real-estate investment, construction and agriculture sectors, alongside a project to establish an integrated medical city comprising a university and specialised facilities — signalling the group’s orientation towards social and service infrastructure projects alongside traditional real-estate projects.

The meeting also explored the investment opportunities available in the Syrian coastal region, ways to strengthen investment partnership with the public sector, and mechanisms to develop the proposed projects and turn them into actionable investment opportunities — reflecting the breadth of the group’s geographic and sectoral interest.

A joint working team ahead of negotiation and contracting

At the close of the meeting, the two sides agreed to form a joint working team tasked with identifying priority projects, studying their legal and regulatory status, and completing the requirements needed to move to the negotiation and contracting stages, ahead of launching new investments in the targeted sectors.

No contracts or investment licences have been announced so far, and the meeting remains at the stage of exploring opportunities and building the regulatory framework for negotiation. CIP magazine will follow any subsequent development in this file.
